Anastenaria is based on a “fire walking” ritual shared among communities of the East Thrace region. The ritual lasts more than 2 days, during which, the partic- ipants reach an entranced state of consiousness that “allows” them to walk over hot coals. Throughout it’s duration, they are being accompanied by a drone- like music played on a Thracian Lyra. In my best attempt of trying to recreate a truly entrancing ritual, I composed a 6’ preview of what a longer piece could sound like.

Solo La Sed - 2025

There might come a time when all you have left is faith. Solo la sed by Lukas Magnus Paulsteiner dives into a dance with the unconscious to pose questions about all that is holy; from having gone astray, looked away, and found within. A play of light and shadow, of oneiric atmospheres, and sustained images for the audience to contemplate their own hesitations or relation to God, that they may be unfastened by dance.

An audivisual performance where I provided technical and artistic assistance. The performance took place as a part of the 400th anniversary of Santa Rosalia in Palermo in Villa Igea in Palermo.
