Philolaos Kougias (aka eleusiiis) began piano lessons at the young age of 5. In 2018, he had the opportunity to attend the talent promotion program at the Basel Music Academy. After a year, he was able to complete the PreCollege in Basel. In 2021 Phil started studying at the HKB, where he has regular lessons with Colin Vallon, Stefan Schultze, Ralph Alessi, Jim Black, Simon Steen- Anderseen Cathy van Eck, Biliana Voutchkova and Gilbert Nouno. He is currently working on experimental composition formats such as “EXPANSION ” as well as other commissions.
As a producer, Phil was awarded with the SoundClinic Prize of Musikbüro Basel for his single “pls don't leave” and has worked with artists inside and outside the Swiss music scene, e.g. Evita Manji, Ludwig Wandinger & Uxile & Mukuna. Phil completed the BA Jazz & Contemporary Music with distinction. He won a scholarship at the 2025 Darmstadt Courses for New Music for his “distiguinshed performance”. He has acclaimed international recognition as he has performed in Switzerland, Germany, Italy, Norway and the U.S.
As a curator, he has experience in curation and project management, seen during the unfolding of the first edition of the 3-day interdisciplinary Kulturesk Festival in Grosse Halle Bern, which attracted more than 800 visitors and engaged 150 cultural practitioners. As well as events in intransformation Bollwerk (fka Kapitel), WURM, Tanzhaus Basel and many more.
